There is always a new sports car, new motor, new turbo etc.. that is better than the current model being released and since i'm a grease monkey (an avid car enthusiast) I like reading up on this and sometimes adapting newer technologies to my car which is a 94 300zx twin turbo. Now the different types of media being presented and consumed are Print, Video with Audio, Webpage, and a very nice slideshow showing all the seductive angles from this monster. The print aspect of this has a very large impact because it gives you the nitty gritty details which all keyboard warriors , desktop racers, actual enthusiasts and potential buyers need to make their decisions and opinions.
More than 600hp, extensive use of carbon, insane aerodynamics all easily gleaned upon skimming the print. The picture portion just seals the deal because there is almost NOTHING which looks like this GT does for the better half of a million bucks, I mean just look at it, the koenigsegg Agera, McLaren P1, Ferrari LaFerrari and dozens of others cost at least a cool 1.2 Mil, print can only go so far as to describe something. You can see the GT's active aero spoiler clearly depicted in the slideshow. If you've ever seen an airplane activate it's flaps on the wings then you've seen active aero in motion. On cars it does the opposite of planes.
The video also depicts the interior with close up slow shots of the seats, launch control and Heads up display (HUD) with the rev counter. The detail of the carbon and LED headlights are also fully depicted in the video in such a way that simple pictures can never hope to aspire to. The reason all these types of media coexist on this page so well is that when an automaker releases a new car they need you to hear the exhaust crackle viciously, video to purvey the curves, pictures to generate emotion and words to captivate you. If there was anything I'd change about this article I think I would allow a poll comparing it to other supercars currently in the pipeline.
Here is a behind the scenes look at the development of the Ford GT from Ford and Turn10 the creators of the racing simulator Forza motorsport.
