Tax Evasion

GLOBAL TAX DODGE
The Washington-based International Consortium of Investigative Journalists last week published a major investigation into lucrative tax shelters that Luxembourg provides to some of America’s largest corporations. Tax experts and lawyers helped a team of ICIJ journalists unravel a variety of complicated accounting shell games that allowed corporations dodge billions in taxes.
To help explain the process to readers, Pulitzer Center grantee Mathilde Dratwa produced a short animated video that ran with the series. More than two dozen major newspapers, including The Guardian, Le Monde and Suddeutsche Zeitung, participated in the ICIJ reporting project and published the findings.
“What this shows once again is the power of collaborative cross-border reporting,” said Gerard Ryle, director of the ICIJ. “Journalists in different countries have reviewed the documents relevant to their own communities and shared their findings.”
1) My reason for choosing this multimedia journalism story is because it has the perfect combination of print, recording, and video media. Through the use of these media sources, this story was both captivating and interesting to me.
2) The print media in this story helped me to understand what this article was about. Without print I would never have seen the article and it would have never peaked my interest. The recording of course was in English and it helped me to further understand the complicated parts of the article that is seen in the print media. The video media source was excellent because through visual I was able to completely understand my story. With all three media types that provide text, video, and sound interactively this article was easily understandable to its audience, which in this case was me.
3) I think this article was perfect the way it was. There is no necessary change that would improve this article. It was the perfect cohesion of media that was used. This article or story is the perfect example of what Multimedia journalism is and how it is consumed by its audience.
Assignment #1: When There's A Will, There's A Way.
Heart and Sole
Detroit man, James Robertson, 56, walks a total of 21 miles- Monday through Friday just to get to and from work. Robertson leaves his home at 8.a.m in order to be on time for his shift at 2.p.m at Schain Mold and Engineering. This has been his routine for the last decade, ever since his 1988 Honda Accord quit on him. Since then, it has been very difficult for Robertson to regain ownership of a car considering how hard it is to maintain one. Every trip is a struggle but nonetheless, Robertson’s persistence gets him there with a perfect attendance record at work. His will to get to work every day compliments the hard-worker Robertson is and reflects how much he cares about his job. And fortunately, through his spotlight in the media, people were able to gather up enough money to make his commute much easier.
Yahoo has been one of my favorite websites for a very long time. It is very consistent and simple. It's not hard to keep up with and it is not cluttered like most other sites are nowadays. I respect the fact that it sticks to what it truly is. In my opinion, less is always more!
In this particular story, print, images and video were presented. However, the video is by far the best media that was utilized because you can really connect with Robertson's story and his reaction on a deeper level which makes it a more enjoyable experience for the audience. I'm not sure about you guys, but I am a sucker for a good heart wrenching story and what better way to emphasize that than through video? On Yahoo, you can also interact with others through the comment section they provide on their site and see how other people reacted to the story which you can also share on twitter, Facebook, etc. This is a feature that I enjoy because it gives me different perspectives on the same story that I'm reading about, which I believe to be very important in journalism. Whether they're good or bad comments, there's never such thing as bad publicity right?
The other feature that I also appreciate on Yahoo is the out source links that have to do with the story as well. It enables me to get further information and allows me to get further involved in the story itself. For example, in the first article relating to this one, there was a link to the online charity page that was raising money to help put an end to this tough commute.
All in all, the media choices used for this story was more than enough. However, I would have liked to see more coverage on what is going to be done with the rest of the money he's receiving. Maybe a poll to see if it should go to him or other people in Detroit that are facing these particular problems.
Superbowl or SuperBET?
This has to go down as one of the best Superbowls in a very long time. Las Vegas had a hard time helping helpless gamblers and betters on choosing a team to waste thousands of risky dollars on. These were literally the two best teams the National Football League had to offer. Wherever you put your money at, in the end no matter what you were going to be satisfied. Disappointment levels were extremely low and being an avid sports fanatic, I was all smiles.
The Superbowl is a well-covered event. Apparently Americans love football, or something. This was one of those sporting events when sports journalists have to work an overload spreading media in variety for their respected companies.
Let's start off with the underrated aspect of media in this occasion: Print. All of the endless articles predicting on what the outcome could be. Would it come down to the wire? Or would one of these two great teams make a crucial mistake and have this football game slip through their hands? Then the postgame articles arrive and it's off to the races to see who can type the fastest and get their opinions out and cover all of the important highlights. Also, I'm not sure if this would be included in the Print category but most newspapers, even the local miniscule ones, come out with a witty headline and a cover photo on the back of the paper referring to the latest sporting event. So when the Patriots won, I think the young women of America were pretty pleased seeing Tom Brady's face plastered everywhere.
The second aspect of media is going to be: Video. There were videos of Superbowl coverage everywhere. Whether it was reviewing yet another Marshawn Lynch rebellious encounter with the media or videos of the die-hard fans having a great time at Superbowl weekend; there were videos everywhere. I think anywhere you stick one of these videos, it was placed. Also, whenever a reporter had a chance to have a one-on-one with any of the players or coaches, you better believe those videos were getting uploaded like rapid fire.
The last aspect of media was a strangely efficient one: Audio. I don't know about you but I think it's much easier putting on a radio station then to create a playlist for your daily commute. Assuming we are normal people and not spend six to eight hours watching television, we easily heard the press conferences and player interviews on the radio live. I also appreciate how these sports talk show hosts allow an average joe like you and me call and share our opinion to other listeners.
To conclude this I would just like to give a special shout-out to Katy Perry and her Halftime show performance which is a big deal, depending on who you ask. She isn't my cup of tea and she definitely isn't no Bruno Mars from a year ago but you have to give Miss Perry respect for going out there and rocking the stage with her random colleagues Lenny Kravitz and Missy Elliot. All jokes aside, this Superbowl was a smash hit, breaking records with 114.4 million viewers for the entire night. So you have to give it to these news companies doing their best to keep the world happy and keeping us updated on even the little things that the Superbowl included.
NBC's Brian Williams a Liar?
In the last few days, we have come to realize that NBC's Brian Williams has mislead the public in a 2003 episode involving military helicopters in Iraq. Williams has been scrutinized for giving different accounts of what happened in Iraq. In March 2003, Williams shared with viewers that the routine mission he was involved in was turning into trouble and was ordered to land in the desert. Once landed, it was brought to Williams attention that the military helicopter in front of his was hit by a Rocket-Propelled Grenade (RPG).
In 2013, Brian Williams had the opportunity to sit down with David Letterman. It was here that Williams told Letterman and viewers that he was actually, in fact, on one of the two military helicopters that was shot down in Iraq by an RPG and AK-47 machine gun. Williams continued to say that as soon as his crew members were hit, they knew that the next step was to figure out how to land safely.
At a New York Ranger game on January 2015, they announced that U.S. Army Command Sgt. Maj. Tim Terpak was responsible for the safety of Williams and the rest of his NBC News team after their helicopter was hit and crippled by enemy fire in Iraq.
Several people challenged Williams on social media, including veterans, that he had made a mistake stating that he was not on the actual helicopter that was shot down. Soon after, Williams had indeed apologized. On February 2015, Brian Williams made an apology on television correcting himself that he was not in the military helicopter that was shot down during the Iraq invasion. In fact, he was in the following aircraft.
I frequently turn to the New York Times due to the fact that they are a reliable source and being that they cover world news. In this article, it contained video, audio, pictures, text, and options to share, tweet, email and more. The video and audio were the key points in this article. It allowed readers to actually see and hear Brian Williams change his story over the past years. The text following the video was very helpful. It informed readers more and I did not feel like it was repeating itself from the video. Being that this event was well covered with a detailed article and video/audio, I would not change the media coverage.
Bruce Jenner Sex Change
One Multimedia journalism story that I think is effective from a site I frequently use is ‘Bruce Jenner Is Transitioning into a Woman’. I found the article on twitter.com a website and app I use routinely throughout my day. https://twitter.com/ThatChrisGore/status/561691961011490816 is the link to the tweet/article I found relevant to this assignment. . On the tweet itself, there is a link to people.com where you can read the full article. http://www.people.com/article/bruce-jenner-transitioning-woman The tweet is easy to find and the link takes you directly to the story. At the article it also gives you other related topics to read about. At the people website there are many ways you can share the article on different websites. There are comments on the bottom to interact with the other article viewers. You can also rate your reaction to the article. Alongside that, at the top of the page it gives you links to other stories and articles about Bruce Jenner, with thumbnail pictures included to catch your eye. On twitter with the tweet I found, there were hundreds of other tweets, pictures, articles, and responses to the topic. There was plentiful information on the topic of Bruce Jenner through twitter. The tweet also offers a photo of Bruce Jenner himself. Alongside that, it shows the people who favorited it and retweeted it. It is all given out on the internet and through digital media. I found this article through a trending topic that shows up on my home screen. There are a bunch of hashtags that have words that are a top trend currently in the US. Bruce Jenner was one of them and I clicked on it because I had heard about the story and wanted more detail on it. I have been seeing photos of Bruce looking more feminine and the title of this story and the hashtag made me really want to get more information on it.
Twitter works so well because there is so much interactivity that goes on. You can reply to pretty much anything. The interactivity works so well because anyone shares their ideas. Most often the replies start fights but at other times it brings people together. Twitter is basically reply or tweeting people. There is a Retweet and reply option for a reason, so people can write back and share their ideas. One thing I love about replies is with a TV show I watch. Other people who watch the show have discussions about the show and put up their ideas and theories that I put into my perspective and think about. It is a lot of sharing ideas and giving people things to think about. There is news of every kind on this website. From celebrities, Obama, sports, politics, crimes, you can find any type of news. people.com on the other hand I do not use frequently but I do trust their information because I do buy their magazines. Twitter is what brought me to people. The strength of this digital media on Twitter and People is the diversity of the tweets, topics, and media. There are different sections and topics for anyone on the website. You can also choose the trending topics to your likings, based on your area and things of that nature. Almost always there are pictures involved with any topic or tweet on twitter. Pictures stand out more and give you more of a reason to check the tweet or an article. Another strength of having things online is that you can have it whenever you want and if you have a tablet or smart phone it is available wherever you are.
I constantly check the Twitter app for multiple reasons. The main reason I check it is because I wake up to notifications from other followers because they favorited my tweet, replied to one of my tweets, or I gained a follower. Twitter also helps me keep in contact with my friends and share my thoughts to my friends who follow me in the twittersphere. I do not read newspapers, or magazines, or watch the news. Since I am always on twitter, it is where I obtain most of my current information. It also helps me keep up with my favorite celebs. My favorite thing about this website is the interactivity. You can tweet and share ideas with almost anyone, and even celebrities can follow or message you too which is really cool. As I mentioned before about the TV shows, I find it pretty sufficient getting other people’s thoughts on things. Another feature is the live streaming. Often celebrities will have live Q&A’s. You hashtag the topic they tell you to and ask your question and they tweet back replies to random users. Twitter appeals to an age range of 15-23. I noticed older people in their 20’s do not use it. The older people to use it are celebs so they can keep up with their fans. A lot of businesses use the website to promote their businesses and keep in contact with their customers. This particular story appeals to anyone who follows the Kardashian/Jenner family, or is interested in the story itself. This audience can react in one of two ways. Mostly, the audience is shocked to his sex change but others are happy for him. They would want to read about why he is change and what made him decide to do this. He has 6 kids and has been married more than once. Why would a father and former husband who has loads of money want to randomly change their gender? More of audience and curiosity come from the fact that he is a part of the Kardashian family.
If I was to add anything I would maybe add a statement of his or try and get an interview with him personally to get more personal with the story. I’ve always hated “he said/she said” things. I like to get information directly from a source rather through someone else.
Bat Dog, 'Rookie', Aims to Further His Father's Legacy in 2015
http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-league-stew/trenton-thunder-bat-dog-prepares-for--rookie--season--video-165905157.html
In very important news, we've learned that the Yankees double A affiliate will be having a new bat dog for the 2015 season. A bat dog is similar to a bat boy in baseball, yet, instead of a boy, it's a dog. The Trenton Thunder adapted this tradition in 2002 with the bat dog, Chase, whom was a fan favorite and began his own legacy. Chase had a long and wonderful career, retiring in 2013 after 77 years on the job.
1)I don't frequent Yahoo! news very often; however, I thought this article showed good examples of the different media types. There's a video of 'Rookie' practicing for his new job as the bat dog retriever, as well as an interactive comments section to go along with text, picture and option to share the article on social media.
2)The use of all these different media types works effectively because you're providing the reader with incite on the topic through text, video, to help the reader better understand the new bat dog's skills, as well as a comment section for those who want to talk about the matter.
3)Where I felt this article was strong in providing the different media options, I also thought that it was weak in areas. For example the text was not very informative, there just wasn't much of it, and I felt like the author could have expanded further into Chase, the previous bat dog's legacy a little more. The whole article kind of felt like it was written by someone who didn't really want to write about a bat dog retriever.

After being Chase-less for the 2014 season, the Trenton Thunder signed 'Rookie', who is also Chase's son, to take over his previous duties.

Basketball Pioneer Passes At 83
http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/ncaab-the-dagger/iconic-north-carolina-coach-dean-smith-dies-at-83-150038480.html
I frequently visit yahoo.com whenever I am in need of information on what is going on in the world today. Yahoo has hundreds of new stories every day and each one as captivating as the last. The types of media that was used were the internet which is how i found the article and convergence media. I do not think that Yahoo has a specific type of audience because there are numerous and various articles on different topics. I choose to traffic Yahoo because I have learned so much about what is taking place in the world around I feel as if others can benefit as I did.
1.) In this article audio/video, print, photography, and social media are at work. The video portion of this article provides an in depth feeling into the article and gives you a real feel as if you knew Dean Smith personally. The narrator speaks about coach Dean Smiths life and his accomplishments. His former players were interviewed as well and spoke on how the coach affected their lives. The print of the article is also readily available and provides a quick overview of what the video is about and also gives you information on specific achievements in the great coaches life. The print also has excerpts from numerous figures and organizations that gave their condolences in the form of letters. The photography that was used captures an iconic picture of the coach on his 800th win in 2007. The social media aspect of this article I found was very useful, on twitter I found that the great coach meant a great deal to basketball fans all around and was seen as one of the pioneers of the great game.
2.) the strengths of the video aspect of this article is that it is visually appealing it gives you an overview of the great coaches life and shows you the great impact he had on prominent figures in our society. It also shows pictures from the great coaches life in slideshow form. The audio portion is also great, you can listen to his former players, President Obama, and active basketball players speak while not having to watch the video. By listening alone you can get a complete picture of what the article is about. The interactivity portion gives you a chance to connect with others that are interested in this article like I did. After sharing this video on twitter it instantly struck up a conversation with many of my followers who also respected coach Smith and was saddened by his passing. Print works well in this article because it outlines some of coach smith's accolades and also tells you a little about his life and basketball career.
3.) The only thing that I would add to this article would be a list or an outline that could be seen easily of his accomplishments on and off the basketball court for the readers that may not be familiar with coach Dean Smith other than that this is a perfect article that blends the different forms of media together very well.
Assignment #1- Bruce Jenner Involved in Deadly Car Crash
Bruce Jenner Involved in Car Crash
My go-to website for news is usually huffingtonpost.com. I always use HuffingtonPost because they are current, reliable, and easy to use. I like HuffingtonPost because their stories are short and sweet but also informative. I check my email daily and I am subscribed to their updates, therefore I see the latest news and it always captures my attention.
In this article you can see that text, a photograph, and a social media feed is used. In print they talk about the scene and cause of the accident in detail. They also provide two pictures of the accident scene. In the social media feed you can read people reactions to the accident as well as some witnesses' interpretation of what happened at the scene.
I personally believe that the text and social media feed serves as the strongest source of information. I say this because they are the most informative. The pictures are useful for visual purposes but don't give viewers answers to how the accident came about or who is in the wrong. Everything is at your disposal and is easily accessible being that is also mobile-friendly which is very important to me. I have read this same story on other sites and I wasn't as impressed with them as I was with this one.
As far as additional media coverage a short video or audio clip would be nice. It would add a nice touch to the experience. Other than that I feel this piece was well put together and got the story across to the readers.
Athletic-Barcelona 2-5 Assignment #1
http://futbol.as.com/futbol/2015/02/08/primera/1423432228_396624.html
For starters I chose this website because I go to this site at least 3-4 times a day. What can I say I love soccer and keeping up to date with my news and everything that goes on 3000 miles to the east of me. Specifically, why I chose this article is because of the happiness it brings me to know that my Barcelona won a day after Real Madrid lost, putting us that much closer in the chase for the league title.
1) If you look to analyze the different types of media you can clearly see at the top of the page there is a video showing the highlights of the game. Through the video you can tell how emotion packed the game was for all 90 minutes. So I guess you can say the video gets to the literal point of the piece and for most people that would be enough. Well, i'm not most people, I need to know what happened play by play and all the ins and outs of the game not mentioned or showed in the minute long highlight video. Through the article, the reader can really dig into everything that occurred in the game from the first controversial call to the late hard foul that had a player sent off and left one team with 10 men instead of 11. Then, we continue down the piece and look at the interaction section. This part of the article is my favorite because of the range of different type of people it attracts. Of course you get your couple of people who just say "SCREW BARÇA REAL MADRID ROCKS!!", or something of that sort. But when you really look into it you get those true fans who bash on their team when they're slacking off and praise others when it is deserved.
2) The strengths of each type, well I mean I answered that in the previous question didn't I? Anyway something else I just thought of is the flexibility to change languages in the article as well as in the interaction sections of the piece. The fact that you can do that not only makes the piece easily understandable by all people of the world but also provides the website with more viewers/readers.
3) To be completely honest i've never critiqued a piece of news like I am with this assignment, but if I were to be picky and point out the small flaws, it would be the lack of an audio piece. I mean, its not like this site doesn't offer "AS radio" (mostly talk shows, interviews, etc.), so why not incorporate something on the piece of an audio sort? Its not a matter of funds, or productivity, so what is it? Maybe I send an email across the Atlantic and find out, guess I gotta get back to you on that professor.

A Look At The Boston Marathon Bombings
As all of those await the trail, The New York Times kept minds refreshed with an article on what we know about the bombings. Along with Q and A's throughout the article, included were interactive timelines and features including interviews with those closest to the bombs when they went off, as well as first-responders, in addition to the multiple pictures of the scene, the days following, and almost two years later how Boston continues to show their strength.

"Before the Attack," shows the path in which the two accused walked, prior to detonating.

"First Bomb," shows the positions of multiple victims, as well as windows that were shattered due to the blast.

"Second Bomb," shows the scene of the crime just down the street in which the first bomb detonated, which also included positions of multiple victims, and shattered windows.
"After the Attack," shows the way in which Dzhokhar exited following the bombs, including a picture of him walking away without his backpack, which is known to have carried the bomb.
The second interactive feature tells the stories of those pictured in the image, shown above, that "shows the flash of the explosion and the final split-second of normalcy before the area turned into what witnesses described as a war zone."
I believe that this feature makes what happened on this day more relatable. Pictured are all citizens, who came to run, or spectate Boston's tradition. They never expected to be in a war zone, or almost have their lives taken. Hearing their stories, and recollections of what occurred that day prove that it could have been anyone in their places.
As well as the interactive features, there are multiple still photos, and countless links throughout the article that take you to previous articles on different stories about what happened on that day, in which The New York Times previously covered. One of which I found most moving was an article, "A Restorative Triumph After the Bomb Blasts," which covered a group of 28-runners who were injured during the 2013 bombings, yet still crossed the 2014 finish line. Upon reading the linked articles, I found myself at times very emotional, which I accredit to the all of the additions to the original article. Having a published New York Times article is an accomplishment in it of itself, but having an article that really gives the reader an in-debt look into something that has shaped our country, is what The New York Times is known for. The interactive features have proven to be a strength for this article. A picture is worth a thousand words, but when you can interact with the photos, they become all the more valuable. Having visited the sight of the bombings, it was hard to grasp that such horror could have occurred in what seems like such a welcoming, and happy place. However, after reading and going through the multimedia in this article, I better understand the events that have made Boston Strong. That being said, I do not believe that there is anything that I would change about this article. I believe that this article has all that a reader would look for when reading on such topic.

One of Real Madrid's star's James Rodriguez will be out for 2 months after having foot surgery!
James Rodriguez out for 2 months
When ever I want reliable information about my favorite soccer team Real Madrid I always go to ESPNFC.COM because they always have the latest news and they are known for being the best source of communication for sports news. This is a soccer specific website from ESPN that was created due to the huge popularity of soccer here in the US. and around the world. I'm a huge fan of the Spanish soccer and it's not easy to find accurate information anywhere but this website is a great way to follow Spanish soccer in this country and I can always be sure that most likely the information will be correct.
1. In this specific article one can see the use of video, audio, print, photography and social media. By using video and audio we can get an insight from two commentators how the injury of James Rodriguez will affect Real Madrid's next game against Atletico Madrid. They talk about the strengths and weaknesses that Real Madrid might have for the upcoming game and how this injury couldn't have come at a worst time since there were other very important players of the team injured. The print part of this article gives a much detailed story of how the injury happened. The photography that we see in this article shows the talent of James Rodriguez. The video portion of this article helps us understand the impact going forward of the player's injury on the team whereas the print portion talks about the past and how the injury happened.
2. Personally, I think the video/audio portion of this article is the strongest because it shows us the information on a short, consisted and effective manner allowing the reader to have a better idea of what's going to happen in the next game. The video/audio is only 2 minutes and 15 seconds which is very convenient for someone who's going through the website and wants to hear this information quickly. Also, the fact that there are commentators interacting with each other it gives the reader a more approachable feeling. The print in this article is also very short and informative and reliable which keeps me going back to this website whenever I'm ever looking for up to date news on my favorite soccer teams.
3. The only thing that I would add to this article would be a very short clip in the video/audio portion on how the injury happened. Because it brings to the reader a sense of compassion and sympathy for the player.
Missy Elliot Steals the Show
Although many rumors circulated profecizing an appearance on the behalf of Missy "misdeminor" elliot, many didn't believe this was acutully true, however, skeptics were made believers as she stole the show along side Kat Perry. Most ironically, Missy has not released an album in over ten years, yet, she now has 3 top 15 songs on itunes and her streams on websites such as youtube have increased by over 600%! Ms.Perry and Elliot, seemingly the two least likely to be friends were able to create a mind captivating show both entertaining and surprising, keeping us on the edge of our seats. This performance has received much press attention and the story has even made its way onto Washingtonpost.com, one of the largest and most respected papers in circulation. Author of the article, "Everyone started listening to Miss Elliot again after the Super Bowl" Ehale Izadi, was able to bring together various forms of mass media to tell this story.
Text was one form of multi-media. Izadi was able to write a short story that described what happened without going too much into detail. An approach much appricated by today's younger readers who don't look for extremely long and intricate stories, even though when done correctly it can almost paint and exact picture in your head while allowing your imagination to take part in the fun as well.
Video, was another form of multi-media used in this story. Both a clip of the actual performance as well as a video of Missy were posted in the article. The clip of the performance filled those in who missed or didn't pay close attention to the show. While the video of Missy's "Work It," helped refresh some people's memories of the female hip hop artist and help to further introduce her to others.
" The New Kids think I'm a new artist.." Missy tweeted out shortly after her performance. Many other artist affiliated with Missy's tweets were also posted. Such as timberland posting
" Now that's what I'm talking about @MissyElliot you kilt that," other artist such as Justin Timblerlake also kept the come back star in their tweets. This was the coolest part of the article because it was interactive in the sense that it included other artist close to hers posts and opinions. A comments section was also added at the bottom to include the opinions of average everyday Joe's as well.
This brought everything together and made the article come full circle since it brought the opinions and reactions of some many different people together. And not to mention social media is clearly the biggest form of media right now and has so much of an impact on our everyday lives. Other links related to Missy were also added to the article for those who still want to further know who she is.
Through text, video, social media, this article is the upitimy of what multi-media journalism is. Many if a follow up audio clip was added that would have added another dimension to the story.

Assignment #1 - Bobbi Kristina Brown
Bobbi Kristina Brown in Coma, Breathing With Help of Ventilator
Bobbi
Kristina Brown daughter of Pop start Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown was found
face down in her bathtub on Saturday, January 31st.
As the weekend
approaches Bobby Brown is facing one of the hardest decision of his life. By
the end of the weekend he will have to decide whether to disconnect his
daughter from life support or not.
Many people want to
know what's happening and how the family is coping with this unfortunate
situation and I think that the NBC website had a great article.
I chose to read about this story on NBC because I have the app
on my phone and I consider their information reliable.
I proceeded to read the story on the website and not the app
because I was unable to see the video.
The website shows pictures, a short and informative article and
a two minute video recap of the story aired on TV. In the video there's also a
highlight of Oprah's interview with Bobbi Kristina after the death of Whitney
Houston.

I really enjoyed the short video because it gave the public an
insight on how Bobbi Kristina was feeling/reacting to her mother’s passing. The
video also shows how some family members are reacting to her current
condition.
At the end of the article it shows tweets and it gives the
public a chance to comment and tweet about the subject.
I like this website because it gives concise information. It's
straight forward and to the point. I started looking at the same story on TMZ
(which I also really like) but I didn't like that I had to click on different
articles to get the whole story.
I feel that TMZ is a good gossip website, and their main
audience is teens and young people. I'm not saying that their information is
unreliable, but it does give a different vibe.
On the other hand I feel like the way NBC reported the same
story had a completely different feel. It was more grown up, intended for an
older audience, yet it was short enough to keep you reading and watching the
entire article.
The way the
information is distributed is very tasteful and informative. I think that the
layout of the story is on point. I wouldn't change it or ask for anything more.
They provided a background of who she is, what happened, and how she's doing.
NBC also gathered information from family and previous interviews which brought
the whole story together.
Overall I think that
having the TV story video on the website along with the story was a great
choice. I feel this website is intended for people that want accurate and
reliable information instead of gossip (like many celebrity websites).
assignment #1 Can Ford's sexy new GT conquer LeMans?
http://www.autoblog.com/2015/01/12/2016-ford-gt-official/
There is always a new sports car, new motor, new turbo etc.. that is better than the current model being released and since i'm a grease monkey (an avid car enthusiast) I like reading up on this and sometimes adapting newer technologies to my car which is a 94 300zx twin turbo. Now the different types of media being presented and consumed are Print, Video with Audio, Webpage, and a very nice slideshow showing all the seductive angles from this monster. The print aspect of this has a very large impact because it gives you the nitty gritty details which all keyboard warriors , desktop racers, actual enthusiasts and potential buyers need to make their decisions and opinions.
More than 600hp, extensive use of carbon, insane aerodynamics all easily gleaned upon skimming the print. The picture portion just seals the deal because there is almost NOTHING which looks like this GT does for the better half of a million bucks, I mean just look at it, the koenigsegg Agera, McLaren P1, Ferrari LaFerrari and dozens of others cost at least a cool 1.2 Mil, print can only go so far as to describe something. You can see the GT's active aero spoiler clearly depicted in the slideshow. If you've ever seen an airplane activate it's flaps on the wings then you've seen active aero in motion. On cars it does the opposite of planes.
The video also depicts the interior with close up slow shots of the seats, launch control and Heads up display (HUD) with the rev counter. The detail of the carbon and LED headlights are also fully depicted in the video in such a way that simple pictures can never hope to aspire to. The reason all these types of media coexist on this page so well is that when an automaker releases a new car they need you to hear the exhaust crackle viciously, video to purvey the curves, pictures to generate emotion and words to captivate you. If there was anything I'd change about this article I think I would allow a poll comparing it to other supercars currently in the pipeline.
Here is a behind the scenes look at the development of the Ford GT from Ford and Turn10 the creators of the racing simulator Forza motorsport.
